Getting Started

Quick Start

Create your workspace, connect your stack, and raise your first incident.

Quick Start

This guide gets a new team from sign-in to a working incident workspace as quickly as possible.

1. Sign in

RectifAI currently uses Atlassian sign-in.

  1. Open your RectifAI instance.
  2. Click Continue with Atlassian.
  3. Complete the Atlassian OAuth flow.
  4. You will be returned to your RectifAI account page.

2. Create your first workspace

From Account, create a workspace for your team.

Recommended naming examples:

  • Platform
  • Operations
  • Customer Engineering
  • Core Services

The workspace becomes the boundary for:

  • members
  • invites
  • systems
  • teams
  • integrations
  • incident data
  • reporting

3. Configure Jira Service Management

Open Workspace → Integrations → JSM and:

  1. Connect Jira
  2. Choose the default Jira project
  3. Choose the issue type used for incidents
  4. Choose the issue types used for problem records and action items
  5. Review the status mapping section and confirm the workflow mapping

This is the most important integration because RectifAI uses JSM as the ITSM system of record.

4. Connect your operational tools

Open Workspace → Integrations and connect the providers you want to use by function.

Chat

  • Slack
  • Google Chat
  • Microsoft Teams

Paging

  • PagerDuty
  • JSM Operations

Engage

  • Zoom
  • Google Meet
  • Microsoft Teams

For each category, set the provider you want RectifAI to treat as the default provider.

5. Add teams and systems

Before you declare real incidents, define the operational model:

  1. Create teams for responder groups
  2. Create systems for the services those teams own
  3. Link systems to teams
  4. Add any relevant paging or chat configuration to those records

This step matters because incident routing and context are much more useful once ownership is defined.

6. Raise your first incident

Open Incidents and create a new incident.

A typical incident includes:

  • title
  • description
  • severity
  • affected systems
  • whether selected systems should page responders
  • whether selected systems should notify chat groups

During creation, RectifAI can:

  • attempt to create the linked Jira issue
  • create the incident record in RectifAI
  • attach selected systems
  • start chat and paging orchestration based on your selected systems and defaults

7. Work the incident

Once the incident exists, your team can:

  • change status
  • assign an owner
  • assign roles
  • add or remove systems
  • create and complete tasks
  • track feed events and internal log events
  • create post-incident problem records and action items

8. Review reports

Open Reports to review:

  • incident volume
  • open vs resolved vs closed counts
  • incidents by system
  • incidents by team
  • AI-assisted workspace analysis

If you are onboarding a real team, use this order:

  1. Sign in
  2. Create workspace
  3. Connect JSM
  4. Connect chat
  5. Connect paging
  6. Add teams
  7. Add systems
  8. Declare a test incident
  9. Review reports after a few real incidents
